1. What is a float tank?

A float tank is a floatation system that allows you to lie above 25 cm of water, mixed with a special salt (Epsom salt) making it possible for the body to float effortlessly and weightlessly. While you float on water at body temperature, you will release the sense of touch, and by minimizing external stimulus like light and sound a space where all senses are free and can therefore achieve a deep state of relaxation and inner peace is created.

3. How long is a float session?

A float session will last 50 minutes, plus the 15 to 20 extra minutes used to shower and change, tranquilly.

It is recommended that in your first session you arrive 5 minutes earlier so you can be explained some of the details about floatation.

4. What is float-combining?

The deep state of relaxation reached during a floatation session is a perfect partner for several other therapies of well-being of Float In.

On one hand if the floatation is made after a massage, that massage's effects will be broadly maximized, on the other hand, if the floatation precedes the massage, the massage will have a much deeper effect, since the therapist will work on a totally relaxed body.

5. What should I bring?

There is no need to bring anything but yourself. Towels, slippers, robes, shampoo, shower gels, makeup remover and blow-dryers, will be at your disposal. If you wish you can bring your own swimming suit although it not necessary.

6. Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. It will always be safer to reserve in advance to assure you have a session in the time that is more suitable to you.

7. Can I bring a friend?

Yes. Floating is a very unique experience and it is wonderful to share it with a friend. We can reserve two float rooms at the same time, yet it is not possible to share the same float room.

8. Will my skin go wrinkly?

No. The salt (Epsom) used does not allow your skin to go wrinkly as it happens in a long bath. On the contrary, your skin will benefit from the water and salt solution used by getting more soft and revitalized.

9. What if I'm claustrophobic?

That would not be a problem because we have an "open" float tank, although you can also float in the closed tank with the lid open.

10. Can I float if I'm pregnant?

Yes. There isn't any contraindication and it is even quite advised in other European countries. The weightless environment of the tank is actually greatly beneficial for expectant mothers. Stress and strain on your back and abdominal muscles are relieved during your float session. The deep state of mental relaxation is also wonderful for the baby.

11. How do I know it is hygienic?

The 300 kilos of Epsom Salt inside the water guarantee the elimination of all bacteria, making the contact with them far less probable inside the float tank, than while you're walking on the street or you're in your work place.

The hygiene is also guarantee by the filtration of all the water between each float session and by the constant maintenance and measurement of the water quality.

12. Is there anyone who shouldn't float?

Anyone suffering from schizophrenia, or other serious mental illnesses cannot float, being that only under supervision can epileptic patients float.

People with serious skin problems should not float.

It is also unadvisable for people with serious hypertension.

It is not advisable to float after shaving as it may cause discomfort in the sensitive skin impairing your float experience. For the same reason people with recent skin injuries should not float.

It is not allowed to float under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

13. Is floating advisable for athletes?

Yes. Besides preventing, also helps recover from muscle tissue and joint injuries. There are several sports communities that use floatation therapy in their practice, such as the Australian that uses it for Olympic competitions.
